What's Happening in Amador County California

Plymouth is nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range and is located on Historic Highway 49 just south of Placerville.

When you visit Plymouth you can enjoy our beautiful surroundings while visiting the many wineries in the adjacent Amador and El Dorado Wine Country.  If you prefer other activities there are historic museums, parks and towns to explore.  Lakes and rivers to paddle, hike and fish. Mountians to hike, ski, snowshoe, bike ride and snowmoblie.  Arts are alive and well in our area with numerous art galleries, music venues and live theater.  Any time of year you will find the perfect adventure in Amador.

OGP Weekend ~ January 11 and 12 - Join Andis, Vino Noceto and Scott Harvey Wines to celebrate the 150th year of the OGP vineyard!  Special wine flights, food pairings, vineyard tours and a special dinner available at Taste Restaurant and Wine Bar featuring the OGP wines by Andis, Vino Noceto and Scott Harvey.

Whole Lobster Dinner at The Volcano Union Pub and Inn ~ Sunday, January 27 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Call to reserve your whole 1.5lb Maine Lobster. Bibs included.

Annual Bubbles Tasting at Taste Restaurant and Wine Bar ~ Wednesday, January 30  5:30 pm to 8pm- Sample bubbles from around the world and enjoy delicious bites from the Culinary team.   

Color Madness Fun Run/Walk ~ Saturday, February 3rd. Registration starts at 9:00am - Operation Care and the GO! Youth Program will be holding the Annual Color Madness 5K Fun Run/Walk to raise awareness of teen dating violence.

Dandelion Days ~ Saturday, March 16 & Sunday, March 17 8:00am-5:00pm - Main Street Jackson - an outdoor bazaar and flea market featuring antiques, relics and collectibles, arts and crafts,food, street entertainers and  a 5K run, called Bunsen to Beaker.

August and September every Thursday - Plymouth Community Market in the town park 4pm - 7pm - music, food, produce, crafts, wine and beer tasting

Beginning in March Every Friday and Saturday through October - Tour the historic grounds of the Kennedy Mine in Jackson - Kennedy Gold Mine

Preston Castle in Ione - Tour the majestic site full of mystery and history most Saturdays April - August.  Special events throughout the year. 

The Second Saturday of each month the Historic Knight's Foundry is open for tours at 10am, 12pm and 2pm
